Marie-Anne Deighton
Clinical and Counselling Psychologist
Marie-Anne Deighton is a Clinical and Counselling Psychologist with over 14 years’ experience as a psychologist. Marie-Anne offers an inclusive, trauma-informed practice that welcomes people of all backgrounds. Her intention is to provide a space where clients feel safe, supported, and understood — just as they are. Marie-Anne completed a Master of Psychology (Counselling Psychology) degree at Curtin University and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).
Marie-Anne’s background includes outreach work with families at-risk of homelessness, extensive experience across various roles in community corrections and the prison systems, and group facilitation in alcohol and drug rehabilitation settings. Marie-Anne left the public sector and joined Cambridge Psychology in 2023 where she provides individual therapy to adult clients.
Marie-Anne works with clients to help them navigate difficult emotions, thoughts, and behaviours. Her approach encourages clients to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, increase self-acceptance, and work towards positive, lasting change. She offers practical tools and strategies to support clients in making meaningful progress toward their goals. Marie-Anne is passionate about supporting clients to reveal their own strengths and wisdom for fostering healthy and meaningful lives.

Marie-Anne works collaboratively with clients to identify therapeutic approaches that best meet their preferences and needs. Her approach is informed by evidence based therapies and treatments and she has a strong interest in applying knowledge and techniques drawn from the mind-body connection research.
